This week’s picture is of the installation of solar panels on my roof. This happened last week and we are excited. We have very high electric bills mainly because our heating and cooling is all-electric, and I’m not really sure how much money this will save us since we are leasing the panels through Solar City. However, I am all for clean energy and want to do my part since SCROTUS is pushing for dirty, non-sustainable fuels to make a comeback.
Last week was spotty from an exercise perspective. I had to be home for the installation of the solar panels and the workmen arrived early in the morning, so there were a couple of days I didn’t make it to the gym. I’m planning on going everyday this coming week. Plus, one of my diet buddies (yeah, I know, it has been a while since I’ve talked about them. But, they are all still there!) and I are going to start walking short distances at lunch time once it gets a little warmer. We’ve had a mild winter, but now we are in a cool snap. I think it will get warmer in a couple of days. I believe I bought some good breakfast and lunch stuff for this week. I’m hoping this week will be the start of a new program.
A lot has happened on the political front since last weekend. SCROTUS addressed a joint session of Congress on Tuesday. Someone obviously worked on his clothes, his mannerisms, and coached him on how to stay on script and on teleprompter. He managed to behave for his handlers that night. A lot of observers/commentators said that he finally looked and acted “presidential” – they acted as though SCROTUS had finally cleared his behavioral hurdle. I knew better.
I don’t care how impressive he was that night. I knew what we were seeing was not the real SCROTUS. I figured it would be just a matter of time before the immature toddler version of SCROTUS came back. It didn’t take long.
Before the work week was over SCROTUS had one of his Twitter Tantrums in which he accused Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower, using Watergate as an analogy. The reason for this is simple. The questions regarding AG Sessions and other Trump cronies and their ties to Russia are heating up. Sessions and others are accused of lying to Congress about their pre-election communication with Russian officials. I’ve read that members of Obama’s administration have left what amounts to a “trail of bread crumbs” in the form of various pieces of intelligence for others to follow today. I just hope they really had the foresight and wherewithal to do that.
So, what does this have to do with the accusation of wiretapping? It is the typical reaction of SCROTUS and his administration to anything they think may be a threat – distract, distract, distract!!! Say something that gets the media and the public running off in a different direction and try to keep everyone’s minds off of the real problem – possible collusion with Russia and their hacking of our country. It is important to note that he has not provided one bit of evidence to support his wiretapping accusations, and all the mainstream media has been working hard to locate such evidence – it just is not there.
Folks, let’s face it. We have a toddler in the White House who feels everything that comes out of his mouth should be considered gospel by the people of this country. He still does not understand that being chief executive of the federal government is not the same as being CEO of a company or being an all-powerful monarch. And, when things do not go his way he, in his toddler way, has a tantrum, usually over Twitter.
At least there is no shortage of material for the late-night talk show hosts!
Until next week….
