Here we are at the end of 2015. It is New Years Eve and time for resolutions. Last year I decided to not make any. Guess I didn’t want the pressure of expectations. This year is different. I have a much better idea of what I want to accomplish, and already have the steps to a plan pretty much outlined in my head. There are only three resolutions and they each have something to do with this blog, each in a different way. The difference this time is I’m not going to list them. I have put them in a document and filed it away. At the end of 2016 I am going to look at them again and honestly assess how well I kept them and whether keeping them (if I did) helped me make the progress I wanted.
Aside from my personal resolutions, I am hoping that 2016 will see a lessening of the craziness that has plagued the world recently. Of course, 2016 is a presidential election year, so it will probably be crazy anyway, even if it is a different kind of crazy. I have no idea who I want for president. I only know I DO NOT want Trump. As for the others, we’ll just have to see what shakes out.
I want all my friends and family to have a wonderful 2016. I want those who espouse violence and terrorism to realize they may cause casualties and damage, but those tactics will never convince most reasoning people that their cause is righteous. I want those who support political extremes in this country; whether they are far left, tea party right, or self-radicalized; to realize that most of the time extreme ideas do not work for society as a whole. We all need to take the words “moderation in all things” to heart.
Happy New Year to all! May 2016 be the year you achieve all you desire!
