Well, Christmas is Friday and I’ve discovered some things. First, I’ve lost 9 pounds as of my last weigh-in (last Friday morning). I’ve done better than I thought. Second, I am not going to torture myself with the scale during Christmas, New Years, and my wedding anniversary (Jan 2nd). Only an idiot would put herself through something like that. However, I am going to keep a close eye on what I am eating and I am going to try to get to the gym as much as possible. Third, it seems that once my body gets used to a healthier diet, consuming a little too much sugar/fat type foods (aka the holiday goodies) throws it into all kinds of gastrointestinal distress. I’m definitely going back to my protein shakes and veggies!
I’ve made the fudge for our family in Germany and for the family here. I’ve made the oatmeal-butterscotch chip cookies for the office and for the family here. I know what we are having for Christmas dinner. My food duties are almost finished.
I’ve been pretty good about making my workouts. Last week I went 3 times on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; twice on Thursday and Friday; once on Saturday. This coming week should be easy. I think I’ll be able to stick to 3 visits Monday through Wednesday. Our office is closed Thursday and Friday, so I don’t know if I’ll make all three workouts, but I’ll try to get at least two each day, one of which should be a scheduled session with William. The real challenge will be the following week. I am on vacation between Christmas and New Years. We’ll see….
William and I have set a weight loss goal. He’d like to see me lose 40 pounds by my birthday in June. I’m really going to try to make it work. It is good to have a goal.
I haven’t been paying much attention to the news the past week, and I hope to be able to spend a fairly quiet couple of weeks coming up. It is time to reflect, take stock, and decide future directions. I hope everyone has a peaceful holiday surrounded by love and light.
Until next week….
