End of Week 156 – Still in Transition…

VetsCemetery

Happy Memorial Day.  Everyone else is talking about the military, so I’m not going to do that here.  Nothing against them – it’s just that it has been said about every way you can imagine already.

Still have not weighed lately.  I don’t think things have changed much if at all – my clothes still fit the same.  The visit to the new gym went well.  I enjoyed the Zumba class and met William.  Found out William used to work with my husband when they were both Correctional Officers at a prison in Wilmington, DE.  The running joke in our family is that you can’t go anywhere in Delaware without running into someone who worked with or worked for my husband (who retired as a Captain at the main prison in Smyrna). I’m probably going to join William’s gym.  It will be good to have a place to go during times my main gym is too crowded, like right after work.  Also, I’ll get the Zumba class at no extra charge.

If I’m going to do this I need to get things all set up this week and really crack down on my eating.  I need to eat a lot more green veggies and salads for a while.  It is time for me to renew my driver’s license next month, and I’d like to be able to tell them I weigh the same as stated on my license now.  The difference is less than 10 pounds, so I think I can pull it off.

I’ve decided to try to get one of those “federal” drivers licenses this time.  I had to contact New York State Vital Statistics to get my birth certificate.  If you ever have to do this, be careful which service you use to order your certificate.  At first I looked at one service that was going to charge $108 to send me mine.  Then I went directly to the NY department’s website, and although they outsource the service, the service they use only charged $64.  Big difference.

It is an active weekend.  Memorial Day.  Indy 500.  NASCAR at Charlotte.  Three days off of work!  Our weather has been perfect so far – sunny and not too hot.  Beginning tomorrow (Monday) I think we are going to have to turn on the air conditioning for a few days.  I’m not looking forward to that because of the high electric bill, but I am grateful we have the AC.  There always comes a time when the AC is on for the duration, but I hope that is still a week or two away.  Maybe not.

Hope everyone is having a nice unofficial first weekend of summer!

Until next week….
