Didn’t lose anything this week. I didn’t gain, but I didn’t lose. It was slightly discouraging until I remembered that my eating plans got sidetracked a couple of times – a small piece of birthday cake at work; my son bringing me a chicken wrap for lunch one day; a Klondike bar a couple of days. I did the best I could to account for the calories, but I think sugar plays havoc with my metabolism or something. The chicken wrap did not do as much damage; at least I don’t think so. It wasn’t heavy with mayo or anything like that. It’s definitely the cake and ice cream I should avoid.
At least I got to the gym all five days last week! That’s probably why I didn’t gain.
Another problem is the doctor says my leg has not healed yet. It is still warm and somewhat swollen, although, it is better than it was a couple of weeks ago. He has me on a different antibiotic and is sending me back to the infectious diseases guy I saw in 2011, the last time this flared up on me. At least this antibiotic lets me eat dairy and doesn’t burn a hole in my stomach!
This coming week I’m going to try to keep on what I established earlier – oatmeal, lots of water, frozen lunch, one weight watchers ice cream treat at night, regular dinner with portion control. Account for every single calorie on MyFitnessPal. I’d like to expand my exercise. We’ll see….
National attention seems to be bouncing around from Ferguson, MO to ISIS to Ukraine and back again. We never know from one day to the next which story will be the lead in the news.
The “ice bucket challenge”, which raises money for ALS research, is a hot topic. I probably would have been nominated by now, except I made it clear early on that 1) I have NO desire to dump ice water on my head, and 2) all my fund raising efforts are centered on Multiple Myeloma for the time being. I could use donations toward the 5K I’d like to walk in November.
Until next week….
