Held my own this week. Didn’t lose, but didn’t gain. Looking back, I think this is just in what appears to be my normal cycle.
I went to the gym four times this week. The pain in my rear end and down my left leg makes it difficult, but I still managed to get on the elliptical. I think the problem is in my sciatic nerve, but I don’t know for sure. My physical is in about three weeks, so we’ll see how I feel then.
I am taking a vacation day today – the first of quite a few from my “use or lose” time. It is cloudy, damp, very windy, and mild. I LOVE this weather, as long as I don’t have to spend a lot of time outside. Autumn is my favorite season. I love the colors and the cooler temperatures. I love that the insect population declines and that I can open the back door when I’m in my home office and hear the wind in the trees and watch the birds at the feeders. Autumn is wonderful.
Of course, it would have been better if the Cardinals had won the World Series. Oh, well. Can’t win them all. I’ve seen them win the whole thing, and I’ve seen them lose. I’ve seen them not even make the post-season. They will always be my team, regardless. Now that baseball season is over there isn’t much for me to follow until college basketball starts up in earnest. I don’t follow the NBA since St. Louis does not have a team.
The most important thing now is to keep my mindset geared toward following the Great Equation (Eat Less + Move More = Weight Loss). I need to get back into the psychology that propelled me in the beginning. I’m most of the way there, but pain and cooler weather can be distracting. It would help if my hip and leg would stop hurting. Maybe that will happen soon. I still believe in the original plan. I still believe my diet buddies and I can do this. I STILL BELIEVE!!!
Until next week….
