End of Week 53 – No Progress…

Well, I didn’t lose last week, but I didn’t gain either.  I’m just not sure what to do.  I’m a creature of habit and when things break up my routine I don’t do very well.

My son and I met a new neurologist last Thursday.  That was an exhausting experience mostly because we had to go into northern Delaware (a place I not so lovingly think of as “Little Philadelphia”) and the traffic up there is every bit as bad as the beltway traffic around the Washington DC/Baltimore metro area.  I have lots of experience driving in those conditions in various places, including the aforementioned metro area, so I wasn’t frightened.  I was just frustrated and amazed at how rude the area drivers were.

Fortunately, I’m very good at finding ways around seemingly impossible situations.  One thing is for sure, if you are driving on Route 273 toward Newark you’d better be in the lane you need because no one will let you change lanes.  To get from the left lane to the right lane I had to turn left into a shopping center, turn around and exit the shopping center so that I was in the right lane.

Oh, well.  Upcoming events are in my area, thank heaven!  A trip to the dentist, which is just down the road from my office; an appointment with the eye doctor, which is just across town from my office.  No problems there.

I’ve been looking at online college programs.  I’ve got the urge to try to get a Master’s in something.  The problem is, I have no idea what my concentration should be.  Most of the online programs are for those with a particular career in mind.  I don’t fit that category.  I am close to retirement and have no intention of starting a second full-fledged career.  I would like to write professionally, but I can do that without a Master’s.

Another problem is I would have to get financial aid, which would probably be loans.  I’m not sure I want to go into debt for a degree program I don’t really need for what I want to do.  It’s a lot to consider.  I’m taking my time.

The weather has jumped from early Spring right into the “dog days” of Summer.  Hazy, hot and humid!  I hate hot weather, but maybe it will help my eating and working out (the gym is air conditioned, LOL!).  After all, this is the time of year I started all this in 2012.  We’ll see.

Until next week….
