Happy Birthday to my brother, Richard (1/2)!
Today is January 5, 2013. I have no report. I know I have gained, but I don’t know how much. Not enough to affect the fit of my clothes, thank heaven! I am going to try a variation on my theme to start the new year.
I am going to take a break from the scale – not from the eating/exercise plan, just from the scale – for a couple of weeks and see where I am after that. For that time I am going to concentrate on really sticking to the eating and exercising plan that has worked so well for me the last six months.
I’m sorry I haven’t posted for a couple of weeks. The holidays got the best of me, along with some other things that were happening that had nothing to do with this project. However, time off for the holidays is over and I’m back at work with my diet buddies. Things seem to be settling down. I went to the gym several times this past week, despite the holiday and my wedding anniversary. I’m getting that old “I can do this” feeling back.
I’m sure I’m not alone in regressing during the holiday season. We must not get discouraged! Remember, the most important thing is to know that we may have fallen, but we can get right back on that horse and IT WILL BE OK!! When I start to feel disappointed in myself about this I try to remember that last Memorial Day I was 300 pounds. Sure, I’ve gained a little, but I’m still a lot lighter than I was last May. I did not undo all the progress I made and I’ll bet you didn’t either.
I’ll post each weekend going forward, even during this no-scale time. I’ll be evaluating my eating and exercise, trying to determine if any adjustments need to be made. It’s a good idea to review everything a couple of times a year. I hope my family and friends continue to follow this blog – I fully intend to keep up on it and to continue my journey through “The Land of the Great Equation”.
